Tycho

This Recon V2 helmet was made from cold-cast resin infused with aluminum powder, which was then polished up to look like metal. Painting was done using Rust-Oleum Flat Black spray paint to give the paint layer thickness, and the colours were then airbrushed on.

The battle damage was done by scraping the paint job off to reveal the polished metallic surface underneath. Weathering was primarily done with Army Painter washes, and Tamiya Weathering Master powders,.

“Unidentified vessel, stand down. This is your final warning.”

They had never seen a ship like this before. After witnessing its power, the Imperial in command was undoubtedly eager to get his hands on it.

Tycho had hunted this patrol for a reason: a live field test for his new prototype ship, the Titan. He slipped in unseen and turned two TIE Interceptors, an Assault Gunboat and a DX-9 transport into expanding clouds of ionized debris before anyone realized he was there. The surviving Gunboats banked hard and opened up with ion cannons, while the slow-moving Carrack cruiser adjusted course to cut him off.

“Maybe next time, bootlicker,” Tycho said with a grin. He thumbed his comm and flooded the channel with a sharp burst of static, certain it would irritate the Imps.

He opened the throttle and the Titan lurched forward with instant, violent acceleration, driving him deeper into the crash couch. Tycho’s smile widened. The engines responded exactly as he had designed them, hungry and precise. Behind him, the pursuing Gunboats fell away, their ion fire drifting wide as they failed to maintain a lock.

The test had already proven what he needed to know. The Titan, his Titan, had exceeded every expectation.

Time to report back to the Mandalore, but not without leaving them a parting gift, he thought.

He flipped the safety on the stick and thumbed the secondary fire button. A seismic charge kicked free and shot toward the Carrack.

Tycho did not wait to watch the fireworks; the result would be the same with or without an audience.

As the stars stretched into pale ribbons, Tycho eased back and let his shoulders drop, savoring the steady hum of the ship in hyperspace – a ship that felt like an extension of his own will.

This was his best work yet, and he knew without a doubt the Mandalore would be pleased.”
