FAQ

  • Q) Do you sell the things you make?
    A) Whenever something I make comes up for sale, it gets listed in the Shop section of my website. Please follow me on Instagram and Facebook for any announcements of anything that becomes available. Thank you!
  • Q) Can you send or sell me your 3D model or .stl file of [insert prop here] so I can 3D print it myself?
    A) Any 3D models that I've made available to the public are listed in the “Free STL Files” section of my website. If it’s not listed there, I'm not willing to part with it at the moment.
  • Q) Why are items in your shop not available to be purchased separately?
    A) Helmet kits, as well as MHAS accessories will eventually be listed and available separately in their own category on the shop section of my website. I'm still learning the WIX platform and figuring out the best way to organize, so I'm offering most items as bundled kits for the time being.
  • Q) Where do you ship from?
    A) I ship from southern Manitoba, Canada.
  • Q) Where do you ship to?
    A) Currently, I ship to Canada and US, but I will be slowly adding other countries and locations to my shipping list. Recently, some places (like Germany) have made it more difficult to do business there, so I have some homework to do to ensure compliance with regulations before I can ship to certain locations.
  • Q) Can I put your MHAS accessories on helmets from other makers?
    A) No. The MHAS accessories will only work on Mynock's Den helmets that have magnetic receptacles of correct shape and size built in. I cannot offer any advise or consultation on modifications you'd need to make to integrate these accessories with other helmets.
  • Q) Can I commission you to make me one of your fully-finished helmets, like one of the examples on your site?
    A) Occasionally, as time permits, I take on such commissions, but this does not happen very often. Send me an email with your inquiry and I'll let you know what's possible.
  • Q) Can I commission you to make me a helmet or armor you haven't made before?
    A) No. Due to time constraints, I only take on new projects that are of personal interest to me.
  • Q) I sent you an email, but you did not respond, so I'm trying again...
    A) Though I do my best to respond to everyone, some messages fall through the cracks. If you don’t hear from me through email, please send me a message on FaceBook, or Instagram to increase my chances of seeing it.
  • Q) Do you/would you make any replica armor or props from the live action Star Wars films or TV series?
    A) No.
  • Q) How long does it take you to make a prop from scratch?
    A) It takes anywhere from a few days to a few months to make something new. I dedicate a lot of time to perfecting existing models, so many of my props go through a number of iterations before I'm satisfied enough to call something “finished". Better to make fewer awesomely-wicked things than a wide variety of "meh" stuff.
  • Q) My company is looking to have something specific prototyped or fabricated. Are you available for hire?
    A) Please use the contact section of my website to send your inquiry.
  • Q) I am making a fan film, and am looking for someone to build me some props for it. Would you be interested?
    A) Please use the contact section of my website to send your inquiry.
  • Q) What is your professional background? How did you learn to make all this stuff?
    A) I have worn a number of hats professionally in my years - from professional music producer, to law enforcement officer for 11 years, to prop-maker. I hold a BSc in Biology and a BA in Religious Studies (History of Religion) from the University of Winnipeg, However, I do not have any formal education or training in visual effects. I learned how to make things by watching relevant videos on YouTube, and by investing both time and resources into levelling up my skillset.
  • Q) Are you associated with Disney, Lucasfilm, LucasArts, Bioware, etc?
    A) No. I am not associated with any third party responsible for any of the characters that have inspired some of my work.
