AMT Studio Series
1/32 Scale TIE Fighter
Here's an AMT Studio Series 1/32 scale TIE Fighter I built in 2023. This is an absolute beauty of a model kit released by AMT in 2023 which I purchased from Sunward Hobbies in September of same year. Once I started working on it, I just couldn't put it down, so the whole thing took about 2 months to build, working evenings in the shop after my son went to bed.
Even before I got the kit I knew I wanted to light the engines, and add some blinking lights to the cockpit interior. But I also wanted to see if I could power it with a battery that I could hide inside the ship which would eliminate the need for an external power supply wire and consequently a stand. You can see the WIP lighting system in the video below.
